Review: Classic by Norumbega Hard Cider

Sweetness: Dry

ABV: 6.80%

Cider Maker’s Description

Norumbega Classic Hard Cider is our flagship cider. It is a combination of dessert, culinary, and cider fruit, yeast, and time. While the blend of apples will change from year to year, the overall approach is the same: a crisp, dry, traditional cider, slightly carbonated and very refreshing!

  • Cloudy, golden yellow color

  • Sour, cistrusy aroma

  • Sour taste, very much like Allagash White. Hints of lemon

  • Semi-acidic mouth feel

Tasting Notes / General Impression

This cider reminds me a lot of Allagash White beer, from taste to drinkability. Definitely a must try cider.

Matthew Ostrander
Matthew favors dry hard ciders with body and leans towards traditional English styles, and he’s also developed a serious appreciation for hopped ciders and creative flavor infused ciders. Though he prefers sweets in solid forms, he does enjoy semi-sweet to sweet ciders responsibly when the mood strikes. Learn more about our Chief Cider Curator here.
