Review: Dolgo Sour by Clear Fork Cider

Review Date: January 26, 2020

Sweetness: Dry

ABV: 6.70%

Cider Maker’s Description

This limited release cider is made exclusively from the Russian Imperial Dolgo crabapple, aged for 5 months in stainless steel, and very lightly sweetened to create a powerful, tart cider for those who like their cider boldly sharp. Think Granny Smith on steroids and you’ll be close. Puckery.

Appearance:

  • very slight haze, straw colored

Carbonation:

  • light to moderate

Aromas:

  • green apple, citrus

Taste:

  • sour, tart, lime, malic acid

Mouthfeel:

  • high acid, moderate to high tannins

Finish:

  • lingering malic acid

Tasting Notes / General Impression

imagine sour patch kids without the sugar (I mean that in a good way), noticeable sediment at bottom of bottle
