Review: IPC – Hopped Hard Cider by Talbott’s Cider Co.

Sweetness: Dry

ABV: 6.00%

Cider Maker’s Description

The IPC is an American styled hopped hard cider. The hops add a citrusy complexity to the cider, followed by a rounded out hop body. It’s a perfect bait ’n’ switch for beer whenever the mood strikes. All natural, less than 2 grams of sugar per 16oz serving, no concentrates and, of course, naturally gluten free!

Appearance:

  • crystal clear, bright, very light yellow color, looks like a champagne / prosecco

Carbonation:

  • pleasant, none on swirl, very tiny bubbles on pour that disappear almost immediately

Aromas:

  • hops, citrus, grassy,

Taste:

  • hops, hints of green apple, not sweet / dry, tart,

Mouthfeel:

  • acidic and astringent

Finish:

  • long

Matthew Ostrander
Matthew favors dry hard ciders with body and leans towards traditional English styles, and he’s also developed a serious appreciation for hopped ciders and creative flavor infused ciders. Though he prefers sweets in solid forms, he does enjoy semi-sweet to sweet ciders responsibly when the mood strikes. Learn more about our Chief Cider Curator here.
