Cider Maker’s DescriptionThe Northern Spy is an iconic heirloom apple variety, once widely grown in the United States. A large apple that is dull yellow with marked red stripes, the Northern Spy is high in Vitamin C and is a multi-purpose apple that is excellent for fresh eating, cooking and cider making. The Northern Spy value has always been coveted by apple connoisseurs. Apple expert Fred Lape once dubbed the Northern Spy the "best apple ever grown in the United States."
